Travelogue | Turkey Part I - Istanbul

So last year before my second year ended, I promised my mom that I wouldn't travel too often as I should focus on my studies. But yknow how it feels like once you've been bitten by the travel bugs. So since I can't sit still and keep my promise, I've been on trips; one after another since my third year started last September hehe. This time around, it's Turkey turn!

Our trip started in Istanbul and I promise myself (again and again) that I wouldn't splurge too much money on unnecessary things when we go to the bazaars. Well, long story short, I broke that promise the first moment I stepped my foot into the Spice Bazaar. I unconsciously ended up buying six Turkish tudungs, two cushion covers, two boxes of Turkish Delights and a small bowl. I know, what would I need a bowl for? I've been asking myself the same question too.

We spent the next day exploring Aya Sophia (30 TL), Topkapi Palace (30 TL) and Blue Mosque. Aya Sophia is my personal favorite out of these three. I love the atmosphere and the feel it gave me. For those who don't know, Aya Sofia was first built as a church before it was turned into a mosque. The Virgin Mary and Jesus mosaic between the roundels bearing the name of Allah SWT and Prophet Muhammad SAW is a sign of tolerance between the two religions; Islam and Christian.

Topkapi Palace was located near the Aya Sophia. I'm not a huge fan of museums but I am still interested in this one since it displays important holy relics such as Kaabah's keys, the beard of Prophet Muhammad SAW, the swords of him and his companions as well as the robe used by Fatimah Az Zahra AS. To witness all of these, was just an indescribable feeling. As for the Blue Mosque or also known as Sultan Ahmed Mosque, was the first mosque to be built after Aya Sophia by Sultan Ahmed I. The mosque is located facing straight to Aya Sophia. By the way if you're wondering, it is called the Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles used for the interior and not its exterior.

p/s: my prayer goes to the families and friends of those who are affected by the bombing that happened in Istanbul a day after we left.

1) Discuss Your Current Relationship | 30 Day Blog Challenge

Well I don't want to lie but maybe some of you guys already know, that I am far from single. I'm not single, guys. I met the love of my life years ago and the last couple of years have been very intense for us. Like, I honestly think that we're in a love hate relationship.

Hm where should I start? Well let's talk about trust. I rarely ever trust people just because of very personal reasons that I cannot disclose here. But I think that sometimes I have a trust issue with him.

They say when you're in love, you'll feel happy, estactic and there will be butterflies in your stomach and what not. The thing is, I do feel that way. Every single time. So what's MY problem? Well, he made me gained weight, but you see, I can't stop loving him. He is the epitome of love. How can I be happy without him? Like, why can't I love him without taking any chances of getting all these fats? I don't get it. Ah, I hate this feeling and I need to get rid of it without ruining our love.

So please, tell me

Catching Dreams

Here's Catching Dreams.

It represents hopes and dreams. And as long as you believe in them, nothing can take that away from you, nothing can hold you back. Not a single thing. Not even your worst nightmare.

First Aid Beauty (FAB) Facial Radiance Pad Review | Skincare

Personally I think that finding a good toner is important for a skincare regime. As for me, I will always have to check the ingredients since I'm trying to avoid alcohol or paraben in my toner. So far I haven't used too many different toners but I'm exploring, and searching for the one that I really like. I give First Aid Beauty a chance because people in Youtube is raving about how good this product is, and so yeah, I bought it. I got myself a 28-pads (£12) because I needed to try it first, just in case if it is not suitable my skin.

I know that 28-days is not exactly enough to know if the product actually works on your skin but I was just trying it and so far I like how it made my skin feels. So here's my honest review:

Pros
- Alcohol and paraben free.
- Made my skin feels very very soft afterwards.
- Feels very refreshing on the skin
- Easy to use since the pads are already soaked with the product, so no need to buy cotton pads anymore.
- Didn't make my skin dry or breakout
- My skin did seem to be a bitttt radiant after I apply it. Just a bit though (is this a con, I don't know lol)

Cons:
- A bit expensive for monthly supply. They do sell the 60 pads though for about £22
- Smells a bit like, hm, medicine? I don't know but I don't really fancy the smell.
- Can't really tell if it makes a huge difference to my skin. Maybe I need to use it longer.

Rating: 8/10

So would I repurchase? Well, I'll think about it. Maybe, if I still can't find a toner that I like, maybe I'll just stick to this one. The product is not that bad. But I just would like to try something else first like the toners from Thayer's or Burt's Bees. I heard good reviews about them too.

Anyway I bought the Facial Radiance Pad from Feel Unique http://m.feelunique.com/p/First-Aid-Beauty-Facial-Radiance-Pads-60
But if you're in Malaysia, you can buy them at Sephora for RM69 (28 pads) and RM130 (60 pads).

So that's it! Have a good day! :)

Another Lovely Morning

So this happened the other day..

I heard noises upstairs while I was sleeping that morning and I thought it was just another spider inside Nad's room. It was always like that by the way but not this time. This time they both rushed into my room "Nana! Wake up and look outside! It's snowingggg!" And I mamai-ly went to my bedroom's window and see snow and rain falling quite heavily. Ah, my sepet eyes instantly wide open. So prettyyyy. So jakunnnn. But wait, what time is it? 9.46am.

"I just missed my 9am class, guys.." And they didn't seem to bother.

Okay whatever, I just get ready to go to my 11am class then. York's never been snowing heavily before, so I guess that after I showered the snow would have already stopped falling and I can go to class. I was wrong, IT WAS COMPLETELY WHITE. It was like a whole new world. Like, exiting my front door is like entering Narnia. The few things that are missing were trees, a lamppost and James McAvoy as a faun. But that wasn't happening. So I quickly get ready and put on some makeups because I want to take photos before going to class. My instagram is going to need these photos hehe

Nad and I were totally distracted with all the snow that we kept on taking photos. The next thing we knew was that we were already late for class. I ended up arriving at ten past eleven for my tutorial. Hehe I didn't feel guilty though. I mean, York's snowing, so arriving to tutorial on time comes second.

This one photo was taken by Jaz. Credits goes to her.

Sorry if you're getting tired of my winter photos! But I was secretly praying that I had a chance to witness a heavy snow and He granted it. So I just had to share this beauty. I promise the next post would be about travelling and other stuffs. Have a good day everyone! :)
