Book Buzz: The Ice Twins Review

I've always wanted to read this book and I actually have it on saved items on my Amazon account. I was contemplating whether I should buy it and suddenly I saw it on a car boot sale for only 50p. Such a bargain.

So, The Ice Twins tells a story of an identical twins, Kirstie and Lydia and everything turns a nightmare when Lydia was found dead, fell from a balcony. Well the nightmare didn't stop there, Kirstie started to claim that she is Lydia and it was Kirstie that fell from the balcony.

I think that the plot development was rather interesting because it made me wanting to read more in order to know what is happening to Kirstie/Lydia. Is Lydia really alive or is it just Kirstie that's having an identity confusion due to her twin's demise. What triggered her to act that way? Is it more that just Lydia's death? These are the questions that keeps me reading from page to page.

There are also certain family secrets that I didn't expect especially Sarah's. And she unconsciously brought along the secrets with her even after moving to the isle which actually caused her death at the end of the book (spoiler! Hehe). Well, secrets always tear family apart no matter how hard you try to hold it together. The ending will left you hanging whether Lydia's ghost really came to claim her mother's life or is it just inside of Sarah's head since she bears lots of guilt towards her family. It's your choice to decide which one to believe.
