Skincare | Best Products For Dry Skin

The last couple of years, I have suffered from a terrible dry skin. Mind you that I used to have a normal to slightly oily skin in Malaysia and this has changed ever since I furthered my study. England tends to get very dry especially during winter and my skin somehow was affected. I would have dry patches all over my face that even a good moisturizer that I bought from Lancome could not keep my skin hydrated. Having a dry skin eventually made my skin very sensitive and even breakout with lots of acne. It wasn't a terrible breakout though, compared to some other people but since I used to have a clear skin, I can't stand looking at my face in the mirror with all the acne scars sighs*

So now I've been switching my skincare products to something that has less chemicals and not harsh on the skin compared to Loreal and that is, The Body Shop. I've been loving their products from Vitamin E range since they do wonders to my skin. Currently I'm using The Body Shop Vitamin E Gentle Cleanser, Moisture Cream in the morning and Sink-In Moisture Mask whenever I feel that my skin is extra dry. It is the middle of February now, so far I only had small dry patches on my face once in a while but it'll be gone once I apply Vitamin E mask on my face. The moisturizer also keeps my skin hydrated all the time since I wear makeups almost every single day, so a good moisturizer is a must. And I've been using the products for about four months now, so I made sure that they work on my skin before sharing with you.

So I guess switching my skincare routine helps a lot that my only concern right now is to diminish my acne scars. I think they do appear less visible now (I'll share the products I used later when all the scars are really gone) and I can't wait to have a clear skin again. Lol.

Anyway, here are some tips for dry skin:

  1. Never ever sleep with any makeup on, even if you're only putting a tiny bit of eyeliner in your waterline. Just don't.
2.   Try using cleansing oil or micellar water to remove your makeups instead of facial wipes. Sometimes facial wipes can be too harsh on the skin that it strips off the natural oil on your skin, making your skin more dry.

3.  Drink plenty of waterrrr. I bet you heard this a lot already lol.

4.  Always, always clean your face before going to bed. The least that you can do it cleanse your face with warm/cold water.

5.  Wear moisturizer day and night. This is a must. I realize that my skin will get dry if I only apply moisturizer once a day.

6.  Find a toner that is alcohol free. Alcohol in the toner will make your face dry, which is the opposite of what we want.

7.  Apply moisturizing face mask once or twice a week or whenever you feel that your skin is super dry. It'll give you an instant relief to the skin.

And that's it! It may seem a lot but once you turned into a routine, it'll become easier. Goodluck! :)

p/s: The Body Shop items can be a bit expensive in Malaysia compared to the UK, so I'll try and find a good alternative for you soon
