Blume Series - Blaire

I started a series of paintings which I called Blume (flowers in German) where this series contains four different illustrations of women and flowers. The first one that I painted was Blaire, a beautiful woman and yet, mysterious.

My First Personal Makeup Class!

So I went to a personal makeup class last Tuesday in Kuantan. Trust me, I've been meaning to go to makeup classes since forever but I just didn't have the right time to attend one. I just look up for the hashtag #muakuantan and Hafizatulatiqah's instagram stood out from the rest since I think the makeup she did on her clients were quite good. So I say, why not, let's try her makeup class since I do need to learn a few things about contouring and eye makeups.

Was it worth it? To be honest, I think a personal makeup class would be worth it if you know nothing about makeup or the mua teaches you new skills or techniques that you do not know. Since I do watch a lotttt of makeup tutorials on YouTube, I apparently picked up most the skills naturally. But of course, besides contouring, I do need to learn how to do my brows correctly as I didn't pluck the stray hairs but I'm getting a hang of it.

Anyway, I think I'm addicted to makeup more than ever now haih. I can't help it. And I feel like going to more beauty workshops after this, gotta learn more new techniques. How I wish I live in Kl, everything is so easily accessible there, so unfair -_-

Anyway here's some photos, vain photos of course teehee.

Brew & Brownie | Cafe Review

Well to be honest, this one is an overdue post. I've been postponing to write this entry since I had my final year essays to finished. So here I am, writing the review for you guys.

So Brew & Brownie is a small cafe located in front of the Museum Garden in York. I love the ambiance it gave and I find that it is a great place to sit and do your revisions or works. However, it is located in one of the main streets, so it can be quite noisy due to the vehicles passing by as the door is left open all the time. But I'm sure that the cafe is pretty quiet during colder seasons like autumn and winter where of course, none of the door will be left open.

As for the food, some people are raving about their pancakes but since we went during late afternoon, we just ordered some brownies. I personally think it was okay, I love the ones from Goji more since they taste more chocolate-y. I can't really say anything about their coffees too because we ended up ordering cold juices instead to quench our thirst during the hot afternoon. Hot coffees definitely was not an option at all hehe.

Anyway, I think I shall go to this cafe one more time to try their pancakes. Till then, here are some photos.

Book Buzz: Memoirs of A Geisha

So I bought this book last year but only started reading it last month and all I can say is that Memoirs of A Geisha is a page turner, well, at least for me. I love how the author managed to keep my interest in Nitta Sayuri's life and her journey in becoming a geisha. I also can't help to notice how he used abundant of symbolism, foreshadows and etc in his writing which in my opinion, is brilliant. I used to study Literature and finding all of these in a novel kind of excites me.

I was so immersed into this novel that I didn't realize that I've finished around four to five chapters in just a couple of hours. So that totally says something considering the fact that I'm not an avid reader. But there are also parts of the novel that I feel like 'unnecessary' and I actually skipped a few paragraphs, but that's just it. Most of the time, I was really into it.

Overall, I would definitely say that this is one of best novels I read so far, not that I have read too many anyways haha. Rating: 4/5 stars; minus one star since there are parts of the novel that didn't manage to keep me interested for a short while.
