We started off our winter break journey in Munich, Germany and spent a few days there. Munich is just like any other European cities and you can expect the same type of buildings all around when you go sight-seeing. It gave me the same feeling like when I was in Paris last summer, pretty similar except that it is much cleaner.
The city was in a festive mood since Christmas were just a few weeks away. It was a pleasant view to be honest because I love festivals. And please excuse the selfie, that's the easiest way to have everyone in pictures.
We were already expecting snow in Bad Gastein, Austria. The earth was covered in white and the view was so mesmerizing. Picturesque I would say.
Went for snowboarding (not really hehe) for the first time and I fell countless times while practicing. Luck wasn't on our side actually. The only slope opened during our visit was not for a beginner. Pretty sad but we can't really do anything though. Maybe I'll just go to Scotland next winter for another snowboarding experience.
People back then believed that the thermal spring could cure and heal any illness (heartbroken is an exception). There was this story about a deer I think or was it a dog? Lol. I can't remember. But this particular animal was healed when it soaked its body inside the spring.
We went for a day trip to Salzburg and I wasn't that impressed. Maybe because I was expecting more or it could also be because of the gloomy weather. I don't know. But I loved Vienna. There were places I didn't manage to visit (still regret it) but it's alright. Vienna was very clean and unlike Munich, there was something about this city that I love, but I can't quite put my finger on it. And I'm not much of a big fan of historical cities. So that's something. Overall I did enjoy Vienna.
I was planning to make a video for this trip since I made one for Paris (you can watch it here). But I've been so lazy lately. I didn't even blog about my summer trip. So let's just see how it goes with my Germany + Austria travel video.
